Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil (born July 12 1988,) is a Canadian actor and singer. O'Neil, the first Canadian female winner of Canadian Idol's season 3 finale, won it in 2005. She is known best as an actress because of her roles in the series Syfy as Two / Rebecca/ Portia Lin as well as on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama series The Rookie. She was selected in the bottom three spots and two contestants were eliminated. Shocked by this, the judges encouraged viewers to vote for contestants such as Melissa who had the highest vocal ability. O'Neil's performance was consistently praised and O'Neil was not relegated to the bottom three. Zack Werner, the judge, declared O'Neil "a threat to win it all". O'Neil as well as Rex Goudie made it to the top two spots of the show on September 7, 2005. Following yet another impressive performances, Werner declared that "The King [Kalan Porter] is dead, long live Queen". O'Neil defeated Goudie during the grand finale results broadcast on September 14th, 2005 to be crowned Canada's third Idol.
